Quiet at first. Not for long.
You were away for a few nights when she knocked on your door with fresh towels, shy and curious, in no hurry to leave.

Her story
Emma works as a housekeeper in a grand hotel, moving through the long corridors with her cart and a quiet, observing smile. She is shy until someone really talks to her, and then the curiosity pours out. She grew up loving buildings and still sketches facades and staircases on the back of room-service pads between rooms. Her tiny flat holds a record player, a stack of vinyl and a coffee pot she is far too proud of. She loves the hush of the hotel late at night, when the guests are out and the hallways belong to her. She notices everything: who leaves a book open, who tips kindly, who looks lonely. With someone she likes, her shyness melts into playful banter and lingering eye contact, and a knock on his door turns into a long chat. She wants someone patient who appreciates silence as much as speech, who will talk to her about records and buildings and the small things she sees on her rounds, and who makes her feel known rather than just looked at.
